Patient Transport - Full Time - Days

About The Position

The Patient Transporter safely moves patients throughout the facility, including to and from diagnostic testing, treatment areas, and discharge locations. The role ensures patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality during transport and communicates effectively with healthcare teams to facilitate patient care.

Requirements

0–1 years of experience in a healthcare or patient support role required.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and provide compassionate care.
Basic knowledge of patient transport safety techniques and infection control measures.
Physical stamina to lift, move, and transport patients safely.
Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
BCLS (Basic Life Support) must be completed by the end of the orientation period.

Responsibilities

Transport patients safely between departments while maintaining their comfort and dignity.
Assist patients in and out of wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds, using proper lifting techniques and equipment to prevent injury.
Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to coordinate and prioritize transport needs.
Keep transport equipment clean and sanitized in accordance with infection control protocols.
Follow patient-handling and transport safety guidelines and promptly report concerns or incidents.
Assist with moving medical equipment, supplies, and documents as needed to support patient care.
Provide customer service, reassurance, and support to patients and families during transport.
Accurately document transport activities in logs or electronic systems as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Comply with all policies and standards.
