About The Position

The Patient Transporter transports patients to and from the department and provides clerical and operational support. Duties may include darkroom work, ordering and stocking supplies, dressing patients, answering telephones, greeting patients, preparing outpatient requisitions, filing patient reports, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records, and running errands throughout the facility. The role requires familiarity with usual terminology for tests ordered in the department and polite, friendly interaction with patients and visitors. Clerical support involves using telephones, computers, office equipment, and PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System).

Requirements

• Must have BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current certification throughout employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate adequate knowledge of usual terminology of tests ordered in the department.
• Demonstrate good telephone etiquette and greet patients and visitors politely and in a friendly manner.

Nice To Haves

• Transportation experience preferred.
