Patient Transporters are responsible for providing and maintaining a safe environment for themselves, the patient, and their co-workers by following established policies and procedures. They prepare patients for transport, report delays, complete work assignments efficiently, and maintain communication with dispatchers. Transporters also assist co-workers, follow oxygen usage guidelines, and communicate patient condition changes to nurses. They provide excellent customer service to patients and guests, acting as a resource and maintaining a professional demeanor. Transporters must be able to operate equipment safely and efficiently, identify and report broken equipment, and clean soiled equipment. They document work assignments accurately and adhere to schedules and breaks. Patient information is kept confidential, and patient rights are respected. CPR certification must be obtained within the first 90 days.
