About The Position

Crothall Healthcare is hiring full-time and part-time Patient Transporters at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia. The role facilitates internal hospital patient moves and is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations. No prior experience is required. Schedules and hours may vary, and open availability is preferred. The pay range is $16.50 to $17.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients, secure IVs and drainage tubes, and secure patients.
• Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to transport patients.
• Demonstrate competency in transporting all specific age groups.
• Transport patients safely, accurately, and on time using the equipment requested.
• Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, reception, and dispatch.
• Attend to patient comfort, including offering blankets, maintaining modesty, and engaging only in appropriate conversation; do not transport patients in severe pain.
• Immediately alert nursing staff to signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintain equipment and report equipment needing repairs.
• Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO regulatory standards.
• Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient-rights policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
