About The Position

Crothall Healthcare is hiring full-time and part-time Patient Transporters at Advent Health Tampa in Tampa, Florida. The Patient Transporter is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items within the hospital. No prior experience is required. The fixed pay rate is $15.00 per hour. Schedules are full-time or part-time, with days that may vary. Available shifts are 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; further details are provided during the interview.

Requirements

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Safely transport patients, secure IVs and drainage tubes, and secure the patient.
Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling equipment to transport patients.
Demonstrate competency in transporting all specific age groups.
Transport patients to their destinations safely, accurately, and on time using the proper requested equipment.
Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, reception, and dispatch.
Attend to patient comfort by offering blankets, maintaining modesty, and engaging only in appropriate conversation; never transport patients in severe pain.
Alert nursing staff immediately to signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
Maintain equipment and report equipment that needs repairs.
Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO standards.
Follow facility confidentiality and patient-rights policies as outlined in facility HIPAA policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
