About The Position
Accurately and efficiently transports patients, wheelchairs, and stretchers to and from nursing units and ancillary departments. Uses transport equipment correctly, cleans transportation equipment, and participates in transportation equipment maintenance. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission and vision of Spartanburg Medical Center.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR certification; on-the-job training and certification are provided.
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or bend for prolonged periods.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred experience; no specific experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients within the hospitals.
- Properly sanitize all transport equipment.
- Move within assigned areas and throughout the Medical Center as necessary.
- Discharge and transfer patients and push wheelchairs and stretchers.
- Manipulate transport equipment.
- Participate in transportation equipment maintenance.
