About The Position

Provides direct care as assigned. May require access to storage areas where medications are kept and carry out procedures that require the use of non-prescription medications. All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Communicates and informs appropriate personnel, patients and family members of pertinent information in a timely manner. Maintains accurate paper and electronic documentation. Utilizes equipment and supplies safely and appropriately; orders supplies as needed; labels specimens correctly. Performs basic nursing care, simple and complex procedures, multiple treatments, waived testing and transports assigned patients. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course.
• Skills necessary to care for patients.
• Heart saver certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous nursing assistant, medical assistant or related experience preferred.
• Required coursework, will accept 1 year of related healthcare experience.
• Nursing assistant training course, will accept current or former state CNA certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.
• School verification of a medical assistant training course, will accept current or former CMA certification as proof of completed required training at time of hire.
