About The Position

Our subspecialty teams offer advanced expertise in conditions of the bones, muscles, and joints. EmergeOrtho prioritizes multiple locations, extensive orthopedic services including therapy, and continuity of care. The Patient Support Specialist greets and assists all patients and visitors, checks in patients for appointments by confirming appointment times, reviewing and verifying demographics, confirming insurance eligibility, and collecting all due balances, deposits, and co-payments. This role also completes assigned daily reports to maintain office efficiency. This position operates 5 days a week from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM and will be included in a mandatory backup rotation for urgent care coverage on Monday-Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays, with additional compensation for on-call hours.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent previous experience
  • Sound communication skills
  • Excellent customer service
  • Experience and knowledge of insurance guidelines and insurance entry
  • Ability to handle high patient volumes
  • Ability to maintain composure when stressful situations are encountered
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Previous experience as a check-in specialist

  • Maintaining patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
  • Maintaining business office inventory and equipment
  • Helping patients in distress by responding to emergencies
  • Protecting patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
  • Maintaining operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Participating in mandatory backup rotation for urgent care coverage
