About The Position

The Float Pool Unit is seeking a skilled Patient Sitter to join their fast-paced team. This role offers a great growth opportunity within a supportive, team environment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required and maintained quarterly

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospital experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Stays in room, as appropriate, and watches patient at all times.
  • Collects data on patient's activities/verbalization as requested and reports findings to nurse.
  • Reports any unusual verbal or physical activities via call bell, emergency call bell, or Vocera.
  • Coordinates with staff when lunch, dinner, or restroom break needed.
  • Notifies staff for any patient requests, such as bathroom, re-positioning.
  • In collaboration/consultation with nurse, incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
  • Attends training and education appropriate to care setting and practice.
  • Takes action to protect patient rights and/or preferences.
  • Follows chain of command.
  • Participates in the process improvement activities within the department/hospital as requested.
  • Follows accepted scheduling guidelines.
