Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous medical front office experience is required.
  • Familiarity with insurance and referral processes.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty care GI experience is a plus!
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in surgery or other complex scheduling is strongly preferred.
  • Prior EMR Experience is preferred. Epic experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for high-volume checking in and out of new/established patients.
  • Promotes efficient physician scheduling and patient access by properly scheduling and rescheduling patients’ surgeries and/or appointments according to all office protocols and physician requests.
  • Works with all departments to ensure smooth scheduling of patient testing, procedures, and other pre-surgery requirements. May include pre-authorizations, appeals, and testing schedules outside a TOC facility.
  • Performs front office duties as necessary including medical records requests, answering telephones, and providing information.
  • Obtaining and completing insurance information.
  • Updating records as needed.
  • Other administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned.
