About The Position

UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Full-Time Patient Services Representative to support the office in Wexford. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping kids be their best selves. The position involves direct patient interaction, scheduling, providing support, utilizing technology, financial advocacy, ensuring compliance, and performing administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Experience with personal computer-based applications, various office equipment, and proficient typing skills preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a medical, billing, fiscal, or customer service role preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems preferred.
  • Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric or dermatology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, assist with check-in, collect copayments, and update information.
  • Arrange follow-up appointments and connect patients to services.
  • Help patients navigate the healthcare system and provide clear instructions.
  • Register patients in Biometrics and promote MyUPMC portal.
  • Educate patients on financial responsibilities and connect them to resources.
  • Verify insurance, obtain consent signatures, and follow HIPAA regulations.
  • Handle phone calls, scan records, and perform office duties.
