About The Position

UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Full-Time Patient Services Representative to support the office in Mt. Lebanon. This role requires weekend availability to support the hours of operation. The Patient Services Representative will be responsible for patient interaction, scheduling, providing support, technology assistance, financial advocacy, compliance, and administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with personal computer-based applications, various office equipment, and proficient typing skills.
  • Two years of experience in a medical, billing, fiscal, or customer service role.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, assist with check-in, collect copayments, and update information.
  • Arrange follow-up appointments and connect patients to services.
  • Help patients navigate the healthcare system and provide clear instructions.
  • Register patients in Biometrics and promote MyUPMC portal.
  • Educate patients on financial responsibilities and connect them to resources.
  • Verify insurance, obtain consent signatures, and follow HIPAA regulations.
  • Handle phone calls, scan records, and perform office duties.
