Patient Services Representative - Full Time

Humboldt Park Health is a 200-bed acute care facility providing patient-centered healthcare services focused on quality and compassionate care, ranging from everyday healthcare needs to treatment for the most critical conditions. This position greets all patients and visitors and answers incoming calls for the ambulatory clinic site of care. It obtains and records demographic and insurance information. It schedules patient appointments, procedures and / or diagnostic tests with appropriate physicians and / or departments and obtains pre-authorization for ancillary or referral appointments. It collects necessary payment and acts as a clinic-based resource and liaison to the hospital business office for patients who may have questions related to their physician and / or hospital bills. The role professionally and effectively communicates information to internal and external customers, while maintaining a focus on patient service and patient confidentiality.
Requirements
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Responsibilities
- Performs accurate and complete registration for appointments.
- Verifies patient insurance for all services rendered and obtains required referrals or pre authorization as needed.
- Collects necessary payment from patients at time of service.
- Provides and contributes to the delivery of a positive patient experience and receives and communicates all complaints to the manager.
- Prepares charts or patient records for clinical team as needed.
