About The Position

The Patient Services Representative works in the Business Office service center and provides financial and clerical support for Revenue Cycle operations, including access registration, scheduling, posting financial transactions, processing refunds, and working assigned work queues. The role is the first point of contact for patients and supports a positive patient experience through accurate registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and collection of patient payments. It maintains patient records and confidentiality while supporting efficient hospital or clinic operations and providing excellent customer service. This is a hybrid position with two onsite days at Kuakini Med Ctr in Honolulu, Hawaii, and remote work for the remainder. The required schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Customer service or administrative experience.
Healthcare registration or medical office experience.
Familiarity with EHR systems and insurance verification processes.

Responsibilities

Greet and register patients, and update demographic and insurance information.
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations.
Schedule, confirm, and modify appointments.
Collect copayments and patient balances.
Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record system.
Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and direct requests appropriately.
Support Access Registration, scheduling, financial transaction posting, debit and credit processing, refunds, assigned work queues, and other Revenue Cycle functions.
Follow HIPAA requirements and clinic policies.
