The Patient Services Coordinator supports patients and families throughout their care journey by coordinating efficient, compassionate administrative services within MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Ambulatory Business Services Department. The role coordinates patient appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments; communicates with patients and families about scheduling, prepayment, services, and next steps; and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated care. The coordinator maintains electronic records, physician orders, and appointment templates accurately and confidentially. The position also processes payments, verifies insurance information, reconciles patient accounts, protects patient information in accordance with privacy regulations, and performs other administrative and coordination tasks as assigned. Working hours vary according to the assigned Center and its business needs. Scheduling flexibility is essential, and some Center assignments may require fully on-site work. The required education is a high school diploma or equivalent. Three years of relevant work experience are required, although additional education may substitute for required experience on a one-to-one basis. Applicants must pass a pre-employment skills test if required and administered by Human Resources. Experience with scheduling systems or electronic medical records is preferred. The role may involve routine reviews and screening to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure; satisfying and maintaining applicable requirements is a condition of hire and continued employment.
