Requirements

  • Knowledge of the health care field.
  • Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and their families.
  • Skill in performing tasks correctly.
  • Skill intact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
  • Skill in understanding patient education needs, and effectively sharing information with patients and their families.
  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
  • Ability to be flexible and handle changing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to project a pleasant and professional image.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring for others.
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, co-workers, patients and patients’ families.
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Minimum of one year work experience in public contact job. Preferable in a medical office environment
  • Current CMA or RMA or current LPN

Responsibilities

  • Answer patient calls after hours, relay patient messages, and communicate urgent patient concerns with providers as needed.
  • Document thoroughly within patient charts of our electronic medical record system
  • Assist our clinicians with patient reports
  • Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and medical records
  • Complies with all HIPAA regulations and policies
  • Other duties as assigned
