Patient Services Associate - Cardiology (Montgomery County, Part-time)
About The Position
This part-time role supports Cardiology outpatient offices in Lansdale and East Norriton. The Patient Services Associate (PSA) II enhances the patient and customer experience by courteously and professionally processing arrival and departure activities associated with practice or department visits. The role obtains pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures, verifies insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information, and supports efficient patient flow to examination rooms through prompt and courteous service. The PSA II processes check-in and/or check-out, point-of-service activities, and appointment scheduling through EPIC. The position also maintains an efficient practice flow, escalates patient or provider concerns as appropriate, and complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to communicate courteously with patients and/or visitors.
- Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for patients and/or visitors.
- Ability to process and interpret data.
- Ability to multitask while managing a time-sensitive workload.
Responsibilities
- Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff in a manner consistent with Jefferson’s values.
- Process patient check-in and/or check-out, point-of-service activities, and appointment scheduling via EPIC.
- Obtain pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures.
- Verify insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information.
- Maintain efficient practice flow and escalate patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate.
- Greet and interact professionally with patients and visitors by phone or in person.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
