Patient Services Associate - Cardiology (Montgomery County, Part-time)
About The Position
The Patient Services Associate II supports the Cardiology outpatient offices in Lansdale and East Norriton. The role enhances the patient and customer experience by courteously and professionally handling arrival and departure activities, helping maintain an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms, and supporting the prompt and courteous treatment of patients and visitors. The position also handles procedure precertifications or preauthorizations and verifies insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information. The associate works with patients, visitors, coworkers, and other staff in a manner consistent with Jefferson’s values. The position requires adherence to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate courteously with patients and/or visitors.
- Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for patients and visitors.
- Ability to process and interpret data.
- Ability to multitask while managing a time-sensitive workload.
Responsibilities
- Process patient check-in and/or check-out, point-of-service activities, and appointment scheduling through EPIC.
- Obtain precertifications and/or preauthorizations for procedures.
- Verify insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information.
- Maintain efficient patient flow and escalate patient or provider concerns as appropriate.
- Greet and interact professionally with patients and visitors in person and by phone.
- Interact with coworkers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson’s values.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
