About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong customer service skills to join their team as a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) at the Day Neuro Hub in Frisco, TX. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. The role involves managing patient check-in and check-out, insurance verifications, scheduling, handling reports, faxing, scanning, and other administrative office duties. The PSS is crucial in providing outstanding customer service to both patients and staff, ensuring efficient clinic operations and accurate patient record management.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED is required.
Customer service skills.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Check in and check out patients.
Perform insurance verifications and obtain required authorizations.
Schedule patient appointments, coordinating with the Center Manager to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete, signed, and accurately documented in the electronic medical record.
Explain patient benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
Collect patient financial responsibilities at each visit.
Scan and maintain medical documents.
Reconcile and post charges daily, and perform other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
Respond to all requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
Maintain office supplies and manage mail.
Willingness to adjust schedule to center needs.
Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
