About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong customer service skills to join their team as a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) in McKinney, TX. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday between 7 am and 7 pm, with compensation ranging from $18 to $25 per hour based on experience. The role involves managing patient check-in and check-out, insurance verifications, scheduling, and various other office duties in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

• Tasks include check in, check out, insurance verifications, scheduling, reports, faxing and scanning, and other office duties.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient appointments, working with the Center Manager to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
• Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete with signatures and accurate information documented in the electronic medical record.
• Verify patient insurance, obtaining required authorizations before patient visits and explaining benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
• Collect patient responsibility payments at each visit.
• Scan and maintain medical documents.
• Reconcile and post charges daily and perform other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
• Respond to all requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
• Maintain office, order supplies, and manage mail.
• Adjust schedule to meet center needs.
• Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
• Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
