About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation McKinney, TX (Lake Forest) is seeking a full-time Patient Service Specialist (PSS). This role involves a variety of administrative and customer service tasks in a fast-paced medical office environment. The compensation is competitive, ranging from $18 to $25 per hour based on experience and internal equity. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Detail-oriented individual.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to adjust schedule to center needs.
Willingness to travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
Knowledge of insurance verification.
Experience in healthcare, medical, or dental office administration.

Responsibilities

Check in and check out patients.
Verify insurance and obtain necessary authorizations.
Schedule patient appointments, aiming to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete, signed, and accurately documented in the electronic medical record.
Explain patient benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
Collect patient financial responsibility at each visit.
Scan and maintain medical documents.
Reconcile and post charges daily, and perform other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
Respond to requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
Maintain office supplies and manage mail.
Adjust schedule to meet center needs.
Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
