About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is looking for a PRN Float Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to work in various outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and can work effectively both independently and with others. This role requires a self-starter capable of providing outstanding customer service and completing tasks efficiently. The position involves travel to multiple outpatient clinics in areas including Denton, Argyle, Coppell, The Colony, Aubrey, Prosper, Frisco, Grapevine, and Southlake. Hours vary between Monday and Friday, 7 am to 7 pm.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.

Experience in healthcare, medical, or dental office administration

Responsibilities

Process referrals, schedule patients, and complete the intake process.
Perform data entry, insurance verification, and obtain authorizations.
Review benefits with patients, collect copays, and handle arrivals and scheduling.
Generate billing reports and closing reports.
Coordinate patient appointments to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete and accurate in the electronic medical record.
Explain benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies to patients.
Collect patient responsibility payments at each visit.
Scan and maintain medical documents.
Reconcile and post charges daily and prepare other reports for clean claim processing.
Respond to requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
Maintain office supplies and manage mail.
Adjust schedule to meet center needs.
Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
