About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Per Diem Patient Service Specialist (PSS) - Float to work as needed. The candidate will be required to travel to multiple outpatient clinics in various locations including Denton, Argyle, Coppell, The Colony, Aubrey, Prosper, Frisco, Grapevine, and Southlake. The hours vary between Monday - Friday, 7 am - 7 pm. The preferred candidate is organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work well with others or independently. A self-starter that can provide outstanding customer service and get things done is desired.

Requirements

HS diploma or GED is required

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience
Knowledge of insurance verification
Healthcare, medical, or dental office administration

Responsibilities

Process referrals, schedule patients, complete the intake process & data entry, insurance verification, authorizations and review of benefits with patients, copay collection, arriving and scheduling patients, billing reports, closing report and other task as needed.
Coordinate patient appointments, working with Center manager to minimize cancellations and support Treatment adherence.
Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete with signatures and accurate information documented in the electronic medical record.
Verify patient insurance, obtaining required authorizations before patient visit and explain benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
Collect toward patient responsibility at each visit.
Scan and maintain medical documents.
Reconcile and post charges daily and other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
Respond to all request for information from patients, other department and physicians.
Maintain office, order supplies and manage mail.
Willingness to adjust schedule to center needs.
Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
Travel to non-home location center or other site for coverage when necessary.
