About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Full Time Patient Service Specialist (PSS) - Float to join their team in Grapevine, TX. This role involves traveling to multiple outpatient clinics in various locations including Grapevine, Southlake, Flower Mound, Roanoke, Argyle, Denton Mayhill, Coppell, and The Colony. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively. A self-starter with a passion for outstanding customer service and a proactive approach to tasks is preferred. The PSS will be responsible for a variety of administrative and patient-facing duties to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experience.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED is required
  • Customer service experience
  • Knowledge of insurance verification
  • Healthcare, medical, or dental office administration experience

Responsibilities

  • Process referrals, schedule patients, and complete the intake process.
  • Perform data entry, insurance verification, and obtain authorizations.
  • Review benefits with patients and collect copays.
  • Arrive and schedule patients, manage billing reports, and closing reports.
  • Coordinate patient appointments to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
  • Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete and accurate in the electronic medical record.
  • Verify patient insurance and explain benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
  • Collect patient financial responsibility at each visit.
  • Scan and maintain medical documents.
  • Reconcile and post charges daily, and generate other reports for clean claim processing.
  • Respond to requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
  • Maintain office organization, order supplies, and manage mail.
  • Adjust schedule to meet center needs.
  • Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage as necessary.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
