About The Position

This is an opportunity to join a growing and well-respected practice! Las Vegas Urology is currently seeking a patient-focused, team oriented Medical Assistant / Front Office Float to join our team. Our staff works together in taking care of our patient's needs and has been doing so for decades.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the Back-Office procedures
• Skill in operating the practice management systems
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
• Front office experience in a medical practice
• High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant or ABR-OE from AAMA a plus
• Bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients
• Set up and assisting with procedures
• Recording the control logs
• Check in / out patients
• Schedule appointments
• Insurance referrals
• Wound check, suture/staple removal, and teaching of wound care
• Specimen collection and handling: Venipuncture, U/A's, and Prostate tissue
• Injections: Lupron, Depo-provera, Testosterone and collagen skin testing
• Urethral catheter insertion/removal, S/P catheter insertion/removal, Voiding trials, Bladder installations and teaching of self-catheterization
• Impotence testing: Doppler studies and Biothesiometry
• Results: reviewing, sorting, and calling patients
• Chart check: review of charts to prepare for the doctor
• Phones: handling all incoming calls from patients and answer any questions the patients might have
• Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to photocopying, faxing, emailing, reviewing and editing of documents, filing and record keeping
• Work the front office checking in and out patients
• Perform related work as required
