About The Position

The Patient Service Representative role is crucial as it serves as the initial point of contact for patients, influencing their first impression of the clinic. This position requires an individual who understands the importance of their conduct in contributing to the clinic's success. Patient Service Representatives are expected to be friendly and outgoing, both in person and over the phone.

Requirements

Moderate comfort level utilizing computers and technology.
Excellent customer service, telephone, listening, and verbal & written communication skills.
Professional demeanor and excellent judgment.
Detail-oriented.
High school diploma.
Experience in customer service preferred.
Experience in a health care office preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and a warm welcome to all callers, patients, coworkers, and visitors.
Answer, screen, and route incoming calls, providing necessary information.
Schedule, cancel, reschedule, and confirm appointments.
Create accounts for new patients and update information for current patients (name, address, phone number, insurance information, etc.).
Check patients in and out.
Make any needed follow-up appointments.
Scan patient information received by fax, mail, and hand-delivery into the EMR/EDR daily and provide the original documents to the appropriate provider.
Assist billing office staff by collecting co-payments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
