About The Position

Open Door Health Services is seeking a full-time PSR at our Urgent Care location at 1651 E. 29th St. in Muncie, IN. As an Open Door Patient Service Representative, you will be part of a supportive, interdisciplinary team providing high-quality, compassionate support to individuals and families. PSRs perform a variety of patient focused duties including greeting patients/guests and overseeing the flow of patient traffic in the waiting room areas. In this position, you will answer incoming calls, direct calls, schedule patient appointments and confirm appointments. You will work closely with Behavioral Health staff and all departments to ensure flow and accuracy of information meets patient’s needs. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Open Door Health Services provides comprehensive primary, urgent, preventive, and select specialty services and social support programs for individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
  • Experience in a health care setting and/or in an office preferred.
  • Previous experience as a receptionist and/or Check-out preferred.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients by greeting, checking in, answering calls, and scheduling appointments.
  • Manage patient records and administrative tasks in the EMR, including registration, insurance verification, chart updates, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and staff to support efficient and timely patient care.
  • Perform front-office and operational duties such as collecting payments, maintaining logs, ensuring compliance, and supporting overall clinic operations.
