About The Position

Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) play a critical role in our Physician Offices. They are the first point of contact with patients, family members and caregivers for their visit. The PSR represents Franciscan Physician Network in communication to provide information, direction and support to our customers. This role collaborates with providers, management and clinical staff to coordinate patient schedules and provide other administrative support. The ability to compassionately engage in conversation with patients on their responsibilities for Copayment, Prepayment and Outstanding Balances. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year Customer Service
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • 1 year Healthcare

Responsibilities

  • Provides exemplary customer service to patients, families, and visitors
  • Greets and directs patients while maintaining a calm, friendly, and caring demeanor
  • Answers incoming calls, responds to inquiries, schedules appointments, and routes calls appropriately
  • Registers patients and accurately enters or updates demographic and insurance information in the EMR
  • Communicates with clinical staff to support patient flow and update waiting patients
  • Collects patient payments and applies payments and adjustments to accounts
  • Balances daily encounter forms and cash drawers
  • Performs additional administrative tasks based on practice specialty
  • Utilizes strong computer skills and professional phone etiquette
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive patient information
