The Patient Service Representative (PSR) will be responsible for greeting patients and visitors, answering telephones, registering patients, obtaining demographic and insurance information, verifying insurance coverage, collecting co-pays, deductibles, and previous balances, posting payments, and updating demographic and insurance information. The PSR will also schedule patient appointments, coordinate cancellations, reschedules, and additions to schedules, and provide accurate information regarding test preparations and arrival times. They will ensure insurance and patient information is complete and accurate, identify and resolve registration problems, monitor patient flow, and offer assistance to patients with needs such as transportation and directions. The role also includes performing visit closure, checking out patients, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing visit summaries. Additionally, the PSR may file, retrieve, and deliver patient information and records, and complete required forms and documentation.
