About The Position
This role is for a Patient Service Representative at Ascension Saint Thomas Medical Group Clinics in Nashville, TN. The position is a Float specialty, meaning the representative will work across different clinic locations as needed. The schedule is PRN (as needed) during the day. The primary focus is on championing the patient experience by providing a warm and professional welcome, guiding patients through check-in/out, and ensuring record accuracy. The role also involves managing schedules, confirming appointments, handling medical record requests, verifying insurance authorizations and precertifications, assisting with co-payments and billing questions, submitting daily service charges, reconciling deposits, and providing clerical support to maintain an organized and welcoming environment.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, professional welcome for every visitor.
- Guide patients through the check-in/out process.
- Ensure patient records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Manage schedules and confirm appointments.
- Handle medical record requests.
- Verify insurance authorizations and precertifications.
- Assist patients with co-payments and billing questions.
