About The Position

Granger Medical Clinic is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative - Operator to work with their Optometrist in the Population Health Department. This role involves handling incoming phone calls and scheduling for the Optometrist, as well as making outbound calls to patients for annual diabetic eye exams and requesting records for external exams. The position is phone-based and located in the administrative offices. The clinic is looking for a friendly, pleasant, and professional individual to join their team.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service, communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Typing / key-boarding skills
  • Basic Excel skills
  • Must be a team player and enjoy working with people
  • Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English

Nice To Haves

  • Additional languages helpful
  • 1- 2 year of Medical Receptionist or Patient Service Rep experience preferred
  • 1-year Medical Front Office experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones in a professional manner.
  • Scheduling appointments in accordance with established procedures.
  • Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with physicians, clinic staff and patients regarding their appointment scheduling and other needs.
  • Record all demographic information necessary to contact patient and/or bill insurance carrier for services provided.
  • Outbound calls to patients identified as needing a diabetic eye exam.
  • Requesting and importing records for eye exams done elsewhere and updating patient history.
  • Assisting with outreach efforts to patients identified as needing Annual Wellness Visits, Mammograms and other preventative health screenings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
