This is a part-time, per diem position as needed in the Enterprise Revenue Cycle - Concord NC Arrival Emergency Department. The role is responsible for creating the initial electronic health record, preventing duplicate records, and ensuring patient safety through proper identification. Key duties include registering patients, collecting demographic and insurance information, discussing and collecting co-pays, maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, and understanding various insurance plans. The representative will also explain financial obligations, refer patients to Financial Advocates when necessary, and ensure compliance with government regulations such as HIPAA, EMTALA, and others. Additional responsibilities may include scheduling appointments, providing detailed information about test preparations and facility directions, creating a welcoming environment, answering phones, and managing electronic health record work queues. The role requires excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a strong comfort level using computer systems and relevant software.
