The Patient Services Representative must understand insurance basics, Advocate Health contracts, and financial obligations, referring patients to Financial Advocates when necessary. They also ensure compliance with various government regulations and may schedule appointments, coordinate cancellations, and provide detailed information to patients. A key aspect of the role is creating a welcoming environment through excellent customer service, responding to requests, answering the phone, and assisting patients with various needs. The position also requires monitoring and working electronic health record work queues according to departmental processes.
