About The Position

This is a 100% in-person role, Monday - Friday 9:00 - 5:30 pm. The Patient Service Representative I will exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience. They will provide exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with patients and families in a wide variety of sensitive situations. This role demonstrates critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in an often-hectic environment and possesses the ability to work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision. The representative will manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, arrival and/or departure desk activities according to standards and guidelines ensuring accuracy and an outstanding patient experience. They will encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process, and enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information including patient insurance, billing, and payment information throughout the patient encounter. The role also assists with billing functions accurately and/or directs to the appropriate billing office, and demonstrates proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses, as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations. Additionally, the representative will monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED require.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Customer relations experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Medical Records Software preferred
  • Front desk practice experience preferred
