We are hiring at Starling Physicians! This role involves greeting visitors, patients, and families in a friendly professional manner and directing them appropriately. The Patient Service Representative will maintain an efficient patient flow through the registration process and provide excellent customer service. They will also be responsible for answering the telephone promptly, directing calls, taking accurate messages, and informing patients of any delays in physician schedules. Additional duties include posting self-pay charges, collecting payments, reconciling daily payments and billing slips, opening and closing batches, preparing deposits, and documenting corrections. The role also requires scanning insurance cards, processing insurance verifications, updating patient accounts with demographics, insurance, HIPAA forms, and financial waivers. Scheduling appointments accurately, entering orders for diagnostic tests and procedures, and working cooperatively with Patient Care Resources and clinical staff for timely pre-authorizations are also key functions. Completing referrals according to departmental guidelines and communicating issues to the Office Supervisor/Manager are essential. General duties include performing various clerical tasks such as faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing, and mailing. Flexibility with work schedules, covering for other staff, and following downtime procedures are expected. Other job duties as required.
