The Patient Service Rep is responsible for providing efficient, high-quality service to patients. This includes registering patients, coordinating appointments, answering telephone lines, distributing communications, resolving patient questions regarding referrals, billing, and services, scheduling future appointments and tests, notifying care areas of patient arrival, identifying insurance types, and performing other related duties. The role also involves ensuring accuracy and completeness of billing information, entering patient charges, and maintaining medical records according to established policies and procedures, including releasing information and ensuring confidentiality.
