The Patient Service Coordinator Cardiology is responsible for utilizing computer programs and following established guidelines to schedule, update, and cancel appointments. This role ensures the completeness and accuracy of registration data, accurate billing and statistical information, and maintains accurate authorization records. The coordinator also ensures coordination of patient care and flow of information by promptly screening calls, delivering messages, documenting scheduling information, and communicating with clinical departments. Additionally, they assist with the completion of forms, maintain knowledge of insurance documentation and authorization requirements, and obtain referring clinic documentation. This position contributes to departmental success by assisting with methods to improve customer service and problem-solving. The coordinator serves as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and outside agencies, anticipating workflow and preparing accordingly. Other position-related duties may be assigned.
