The Patient Service Coordinator Cardiology is responsible for utilizing computer programs and following established guidelines to schedule, update, and cancel appointments. This role ensures the completeness and accuracy of registration data, accurate billing and statistical information, and maintains accurate authorization records. The coordinator also ensures coordination of patient care and flow of information by promptly screening calls, delivering messages, documenting scheduling information, and communicating with clinical departments. Additionally, they assist with form completion, maintain knowledge of insurance requirements, and obtain referring clinic documentation. The position contributes to departmental improvement by assisting with customer service initiatives and problem-solving. The coordinator serves as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and outside agencies, anticipating workflow and preparing accordingly. Other position-related duties may be assigned.
