The associate must be knowledgeable about state and government agencies for proper consents and work with facilities for proxy consents. They also need to understand and adhere to payer requirements for referrals and authorizations within their assigned specialty, schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and prior authorizations. Professional and timely communication with providers, patients, clinical care teams, and insurance companies is essential, as is answering incoming phone calls and directing them appropriately. The role also requires conveying a professional image by adhering to the established dress code.
