This role is responsible for coordinating patient appointment scheduling by registering patients, updating insurance information, and scheduling visits. The Patient Service Associate will interact with a diverse patient population, utilize the electronic medical record for maintaining patient records, and be knowledgeable about state and government agencies for proper consents. They will also adhere to payer requirements for referrals and authorizations, schedule follow-up appointments, and communicate professionally with all parties. The position requires periodic travel across other Multispecialty offices within a 50-mile radius. The role involves managing the registration and scheduling process for complex patients, updating systems with registration, scheduling, and insurance information, and preparing patient paperwork. Additionally, the associate will discuss financial obligations, explain regulatory forms, and answer patient questions. They will work in multiple systems to ensure accurate registration and support clinical workflow, understand the practice and hospital strategic plan, and represent Albany Med Health System by supporting its ideals and principles. A key aspect of the role is to ensure an optimal patient experience and promote patient and employee safety.
