The Patient Scheduling Coordinator, Ophthalmology, is responsible for scheduling clinical appointments for new and returning patients, coordinating laboratory work and diagnostic testing, and performing complex coordination among physicians, patients, nurses, and external testing laboratories. This role requires independent judgment and discretion to prioritize appointments and anticipate patient needs. The coordinator also handles patient inquiries, resolves issues, assists with training, processes transaction editing system (TES) files, performs medical coding, coordinates surgeries, and handles financial duties related to insurance authorization and billing questions. The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with a pay range of $20.80 - $31.20 per hour.
