This position is responsible for scheduling all types of complex Interventional Radiology procedures, paying close attention to specific anatomical descriptions and instructions. The role involves utilizing multiple computer applications, including scheduling software like EPIC/UChart/Radiant, and network drives to schedule procedures and appointments across various departments and entities such as Kendall, Plantation, Lennar, UMH, ABLEH, DFB, and UMHC. The Patient Scheduler must use intermediate and complex medical terminology and precise scheduling protocols to ensure compliance. They will coordinate processes and timing as required by physicians and facilities for special procedures. This includes obtaining necessary information from referring physicians or patients, such as medical history, and documenting it in Uchart. The role also involves notifying appropriate parties if a patient requires labs or premedication, obtaining necessary implant information, and securing order forms via email or fax before scheduling. Verification of radiology order forms for completeness (patient name, DOB, MRN, test type, diagnosis, symptoms, practitioner signature, NPI) is crucial. The scheduler will also notify on-site insurance verifiers of same-day or next-day appointments, inform patients of pending authorizations, and scan external orders or link necessary documentation in Uchart. Adhering to the AIDET standard policy (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explain, Thank you) is required. Additionally, the role involves notifying referring physicians of rescheduled appointments and no-shows, scheduling callbacks requested by radiologists, and working the Physicians order queue in Uchart daily. Appointments will be scheduled for the next available slot or a requested date/time if permissible. This list of duties is not exhaustive and may be expanded as needed.
