About The Position
The Patient Resource Tech provides support across patient care and hospital operations, contributing to patient safety, comfort, and operational efficiency. The role rotates among patient sitter, transportation aide, and hospital entry screener duties. As a sitter, the tech maintains continuous visual observation, responds promptly to patient needs, follows sitter guidelines and standards of care, and reports changes in patient behavior to the nurse. Transportation aide duties include safely moving patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital and accurately tracking assignments. The position calls for a commitment to patient well-being, diligence, observational skills, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- High school graduate with general studies.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) – CPR.

Responsibilities
- Remain present with the patient and maintain visual observation at all times.
- Remove all personal items and place the patient in a red gown.
- Follow Sitter Guidelines and Standards of Care for the patient populations served.
- Report all changes in patient behavior to the nurse.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and requests.
- Safely transport patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital.
- Ensure efficient movement and accurate tracking of transportation assignments.
- Rotate among patient sitter, transportation aide, and hospital entry screener duties.
