About The Position

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) is seeking a Patient Representative Float to support the MRI department. This full-time position is primarily responsible for the patient registration process, ensuring exceptional professionalism and customer service. The role involves travel to various clinic locations, including Joliet, Oak Brook, Westchester, and Naperville. MOR is a nationally recognized leader in comprehensive orthopedic services, with its program at Rush University Medical Center ranked Top 10 in Orthopedics by U.S. News and World Report. The doctors at MOR are the official team physicians for several major Chicago sports teams and DePaul University Athletics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a computer, phone, and fax machine.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work and communicate with patients, physicians, and staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the highest possible customer service standards in patient check-in, status updates, and answering phone calls.
  • Oversees patient tracking in the Electronic Medical Record, collects co-pays, and ensures form completion.
  • Verifies, updates, and scans new and returning patient information.
  • Completes the patient check-out process, including collecting outstanding balances, providing correspondence, and scheduling return appointments.
  • Maintains a positive demeanor with patients, peers, supervisors, and physicians, especially when receiving feedback or direction.
  • Enters patient admitting information into the computer.
  • Obtains signed statements from patients to protect the clinic's interests.
  • Collects co-pays and/or payments on account.
  • Travels as required to additional clinic locations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
