The Patient Representative I is responsible for ensuring patient safety by identifying the correct patient, recognizing special needs, and preparing isolation precautions for patients with infectious disease indicators. This role provides assistance and services to patients, families, staff, and external agencies in the accurate completion of patient registration, admission, and scheduling. The Patient Representative investigates and resolves customer requests, questions, or problems according to CCHMC policies and procedures and contacts outside representatives for information or assistance. This position also maintains confidentiality, protects, and safeguards patient/family personal medical and financial information at all times during collection, use, and storage, accessing only information necessary for the role. Additionally, the Patient Representative completes and authenticates all documents and questionnaires to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (JCAHO, CMS, ODH) and supports the Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, and Regulatory by ensuring necessary data, information, and forms are obtained and accurately entered into the appropriate system. They also communicate with management to explain system errors or recommend changes.
