About The Position

Provides office support including greeting patients and visitors, verifying patient demographics and insurance eligibility and coverage, utilizing numerous software applications, scheduling appointments and referrals, handling point of service collection, coding and batching of encounter forms, and providing support to the suite and department. Interacts with patients, fellow co-workers and providers in a positive and professional manner. Ensures all patient and departmental needs are met. Performs under limited supervision, following the standard procedures, maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA & Strong Health Guidelines. Adheres to Highland Promise Standards of presenting yourself in a positive, professional manner, being respectful of each other and our patients, providing a safe and clean environment, providing excellent care and working as a team.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience
1 year of experience as a Medical Secretary in an outpatient medical practice setting
Medical Secretarial Certification or Degree
Computer experience
Medical billing and terminology required

Nice To Haves

Associate's Degree preferred
1 year of experience as a Medical Secretary in an outpatient medical practice setting preferred
Medical Secretarial Certification or Degree preferred
