About The Position

Highland Hospital, a 261-bed community teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Rochester Medical Center, is recruiting experienced Patient Registration Associates to join their Family Maternity Center. The Family Maternity Center is known for its outstanding care, handling Rochester's most newborns each year, and features 10 labor beds, 30 post-partum beds, and a special care nursery for higher-risk situations. This position can be either full-time or part-time, with a commitment to primarily evenings and nights, but includes a mix of days/evenings/nights, every other weekend, and 50% of holidays. Responsibilities include patient reception and assistance, patient registration, chart preparation, patient tracking, and supporting nursing and patient tech staff. A commitment to customer satisfaction with patients, family members, physician offices, hospital departments, surgeons, anesthesiologists, other providers, and nursing staff is essential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2 years customer service experience required
• Able to utilize computer programs
• Answer multiple phone lines
• Operate fax/copier machines
• Interact with customers in a positive manner
• Assemble charts in an orderly designated fashion
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Computer skills (HBOC, CIS)
• Able to multi-task
• Able to follow directions
• Provide excellent customer service

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree preferred
• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
• Medical terminology preferred
