Patient Nutrition Rep
About The Position
The Patient Nutrition Rep is responsible for patient meal service on assigned units. The role includes taking menu selections, assembling and delivering trays, picking up trays, responding to special requests and needs, and delivering food between meals. The representative communicates patient food issues, concerns, and needs to department team members and interacts with nursing employees about patient nutrition needs or requirements. The role requires responding accurately and effectively to changes to support efficient service timing and accuracy with physician-ordered modified diets.
Requirements
- No work experience is required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Six months of previous food service experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient meal service on assigned units, including menu selections, tray assembly, delivery and pickup, and fulfillment of special requests and needs.
- Deliver food between meals.
- Communicate patient food issues, concerns, and needs to team members within the department.
- Interact with nursing employees regarding patient nutrition needs or requirements.
- Respond accurately and effectively to changes to ensure efficient service timing and accuracy of physician-ordered modified diets.
