Patient Monitor Observer - Part Time
About The Position
Sanford Health is hiring a part-time Patient Monitor Observer to support patient safety at Sanford Medical Center. The role provides continuous video observation for patients who need additional support to stay safe. The observer monitors patient activity using a video surveillance system, watches for signs that a patient may need assistance, and promptly notifies the nursing team of concerns. The Monitor Tech also provides support services, including basic computer keyboarding, assembling and disassembling patient charts as appropriate, contacting other departments about ordered tests and procedures, and stocking supplies. Depending on the location, the role may include monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs, following established alarm algorithms, communicating concerning events, and summoning nursing staff when patients need assistance.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED required.

- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment or supplies.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous video observation and surveillance of assigned patients, depending on location.
- Monitor patient activity and watch for signs that patients may need assistance.
