This role represents Patient Meal Room Service to Patients and the Nursing team, reporting directly to Nutrition & Food Service management. The primary focus is ensuring a positive patient experience by managing patient meal service for assigned units. This includes introducing patients to the program, taking meal selections (ensuring compliance with therapeutic diets and food allergies), and handling Room Service calls with professionalism and efficiency. Adherence to safety guidelines, including patient identification, meal accuracy, and infection prevention practices (even in isolation), is crucial. The associate takes ownership of their unit assignment with minimal supervision, acting as the N&FS liaison between patients and the care team. Responsibilities also include delivering nutrition supplies and completing other assigned duties, providing meals in a professional, courteous, and timely manner, and working with diet-specific menus. The role involves operating a call center as the communication hub for Patient Meal Room Service, entering orders into nutrition software, and assisting with daily reporting. Exceptional customer service, accuracy, safety, and efficiency are paramount.
